Timothy Brameld, Edinburgh, Scotland, U.K., 1987. 68"h x 15"w x 9.5"d. Four legged gravity escapement astro regulator. One second period. One of nine commissioned based on an earlier clock designed and built by Moore of Leeds, England, c.1850. This regulator displays some of the best examples of the horological art. The movement is fully jeweled with end stones in screwed chatons up to the hour wheel. The main wheel and weight pulley are in ball bearing races. The 35 lb. weight is compounded. The compensated mercury pendulum has a weight tray on its' rod with a full compliment of weights available for fine adjustment. Mr. Brameld was awarded a "Certificate of Excellence" by the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers for this clock in November 1987. Movement is enclosed in a heavy brass glazed case. Total weight over 120 lb. One of Brameld's earliest works was a three sided-dial calendar clock.
