Sargent & Greenleaf, Rochester, New York - 4 movements, Model Y

The distinguishing feature of this S&G model is the side pull dogging
device. This is the same style as used in the Model Triple C.
Model Y, later No. 6402. c. 1920's. This lock has the same distinguishing feature of
the Model C and
Model P which is the 'side pull' type of bolt dogging device.
This is easily seen in the last two photos.
The P uses the smallest S&G style 'H' movements. This example uses S&G's size 'L' movement
which was the next size larger and with
the 120 hour duration movement option. This was an expensive choice since a time
lock equipped with 120 hour movements cost about 50% more than one with the
standard 72 hour movements according to a
1929 price list. 9 1/4"w x 4 3/4"h x 3"d, Case #258, movements
