Holes drilled and countersinks fabricated. Actually these holes should be done before the part outline is fabricated, just in case the holes are drilled improperly. Afterward small screws were purchased, however, only flat head styles were available in this size. So a larger size was shaped in the lathe to both cut down the diameter of the screw head and shape the head into the oval shape that is used throughout the rest of the clock. Then the screws were cut to fit flush with the collet. Finally the heads as well as the tails were polished.
