A piece of flat steel stock is cut roughly using a hack saw. If this were a thinner piece of steel or brass, an electric scroll saw would have been used, greatly reducing the fabrication time. The rough outlined blank is then shaped on a bench grinder. Afterward a small grinding stone used on a Dremell tool to refine the shape. Then a hand file is employed to achieve the final outline. Finally various grades of sandpaper are used to achieve the finish.
