These photos highlight the meticulous hand fretting out of the movement frame plates. Although the overall look of the movement is an architectural representation of St. Paul's Cathedral, notice the inclusion of the floral design just below the cathedral crown; just above the clock dial as well as just below the dial. This same design is used in the plates that surround the music box as well as the front dome base marquee. Notice in the lower photo the thickness of the frame plates, reminiscent of original Victorian fabrication and so often lacking in modern reproductions. Movement plates are approximately 3/16" (50mm) thick. The music box plate are slightly thicker yet.
